These modern coffee tables are added to the Archipelago collection, designed by the Tollgard-Castellani couple. Ekero takes its name from Oak Island, located right outside Stockholm, where creative director Tollgard grew up. The concept of enclosing one material within another, just as islands are surrounded by the sea, is the underlying theme of these pieces. Sturdy bases in white Carrara marble or gray Carnico marble, which symbolize the solid trunks of Oak Island, support, by means of a central metal stem, the tops made of solid Canaletta walnut. The latter, with a lively and expressive air, have curved and elegant lines that recall pebbles smoothed by the waves. Just as islands are shaped by the sea, each of these living room tables has different shapes and sizes: round, square or oval with three different height configurations.
